Willow--Hand Bound Journal
$55.00 / Sold Out
Peach Leaf Willows, which are native to Colorado, were used to eco print* the repurposed silk fabric used for the cover of this hand bound journal. The pigments of the leaves along with the iron present in the Ute spring water of Manitou created this one of a kind resist print. Journal is 4" x 5" and is filled with 120 pages of Canson recycled sketch paper which is great for writing or sketching. The Coptic stitch used to bind the book allows the journal to lay flat when open and in use.
* Eco printing is a process by which leaves and other botanicals are tightly bound withing a natural fiber textile or paper and heated over simmering water. The combination of contact with the cloth, heat, steam and a little magic releases the pigments in the leaves onto the fabric/paper. One part science, many parts magic, no two prints are ever alike.
